About the role

An Activities Assistant who excels in this role assists and executes with the Activity Therapist or Activity Therapy Coordinator to provide medically approved activity programs including holiday and special events, social activities, relaxation techniques, music-based interventions, leisure educational games, and expressive arts. These programs help patients develop interpersonal relationships, increase motivation, socialize effectively, and build confidence needed to participate in group activities. The Activities Assistant works under the guidance and supervision of an Activity Therapist or Activity Therapy Coordinator to tailor program content according to patients' capabilities, needs, interests, and treatment plans.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institute in a recreation-related field (preferred)
• Previous experience in a psychiatric health care facility, with direct experience working with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, psychiatric, and geriatric patients (preferred)
• CPR certification and Crisis Prevention Training (CPI) within 30 days of hire

Pay

Hourly range: $18.53–$22.88 per hour

Schedule

Full-time day shift, 1–2 weekends per month
