Activities Assistant

About the role

Larami Health and Rehabilitation is seeking an Activities Assistant who approaches the elderly with kindness, listens well, builds rapport easily, and communicates effectively. The role offers the chance to make a meaningful difference in residents’ lives while collaborating with a supportive team.

Responsibilities

• Implement group programming that promotes interaction between residents.
• Notify residents and staff of activity schedules.
• Visit residents one‑to‑one, as directed by the Activities Director, to provide:
  • A friendly visitor
  • Sensory stimulation
  • Reality orientation
  • Individualized support outlined in each resident’s Activity Plan
• Select residents and coordinate with nursing personnel to transport residents to and from general activity areas.
• Perform general housekeeping duties in activity areas.

Qualifications

• Kind, compassionate approach to working with elderly residents.
• Strong listening skills and ability to build rapport quickly.
• Effective verbal communication.
• Ability to work collaboratively with staff and residents.
