About the role
You assist the department in planning, organizing, developing, and directing the daily events and programming for residents, including arts & crafts, performances, and other activities.
Responsibilities
- Help coordinate and run events and activities programming.
- Build relationships with residents and learn about their interests to tailor programming to their desires.
- Organize group and individual programming.
- Generate ideas that will excite and encourage residents to participate in programming.
- Encourage residents to take part in activities that will stimulate his/her potential, physically, mentally, socially, and spiritually.
- Assist with and follow through on the establishment of resident care goals within the framework of the entire therapeutic team.
- Document and report any unusual or significant findings.
- Report all reportable events immediately.
Requirements
- Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma or its equivalent.
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
- Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.
