Principal Responsibilities
- Affords support to the Activity Director in developing and delivering activity/recreational programs.
- Encourages resident participation in various activities such as arts/crafts, community outings, religious activities, intellectual/educational activities, community/center service activities, recreational activities, etc.
- Assists in the completion of activity documentation and activity expenditures.
- Maintains precautions/limitations lists for each resident.
- Supports the volunteer program by recruiting and training volunteers.
- Assists with Resident Council Meetings.
- Participates in planning community activities involving the community, staff, families, and residents.
- Completes a monthly calendar of available activity/recreational programs and posts it in the center.
General Responsibilities
- Attends and participates in scheduled training, educational classes, and meetings to maintain current certifications as applicable.
- Adheres to work schedules and completes assigned tasks in a timely manner.
- Maintains acceptable center attendance and notifies the facility of any late arrivals or absences.
- Cooperates with other facility personnel to ensure adequate services are provided to residents.
- Creates and maintains a warm, personal, and positive environment.
- Adheres to established employee policies and maintains a professional image.
- Presents professional service to residents, residents' family members, visitors, and fellow employees.
- Explains procedures to residents before administering services.
Customer Service Responsibilities
- Models customer service principles throughout the center and promotes the appreciation of residents' needs.
- Treats residents, residents' family members, visitors, and fellow employees with courtesy, respect, and dignity.
- Presents a professional image through appearance, behavior, and speech.
- Explains procedures to residents before administering services.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
- Activities Certification, preferred.
- One-year experience working in long-term care.
- One year of experience conducting social/recreational programs within the past five years, preferred.
- May escort residents to outside appointments.
