Activities Aide

About the role

Garden Spring Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, located in Willow Grove, PA, is seeking an enthusiastic and innovative Activities Aide to join their team. The position requires a full-time schedule with flexibility to work some evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Helps residents maintain their highest level of functioning by presenting appropriate activity programs according to their physical capacity, cognitive ability, and interest.
• Invites and encourages resident participation and assists in transporting.
• Accompanies residents outside the facility to participate in community events.
• Create decorations, set up necessary equipment, create various crafts, and award prizes.
• Assist in planning, laying out, and distributing the monthly activity calendar.
• Schedule movies, plan parties, and provide games/activities for residents.
• Supervise and lead activities as necessary.
• Attend and contribute to resident Care Plan Meetings.
• Participate in Quality Assurance programs and facility committees/programs.

Qualifications

• Must have experience in recreation with long-term care experience being preferred.
• Ability to perform physical tasks required in skilled nursing.
