Actively Hiring Behavioral Support Caregiver (12-Hour AM or Night Shifts)

About the role

Cheer Home Care is actively seeking dedicated, highly skilled Behavioral Caregivers for 12‑hour day and NOC shifts in San Diego Carmel Valley. Provide specialized, compassionate support to seniors and adults in their homes, implementing customized care plans, assisting with ADLs, offering companionship, monitoring safety, and delivering medication reminders, light housekeeping, meal preparation, and safe transportation.

Responsibilities

• Implement customized care plans, apply de‑escalation techniques, and provide structured behavioral support with patience and empathy.
• Assist clients with daily living activities (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility, and transferring.
• Build rapport, foster a calm environment, and engage clients through meaningful activities and social interactions.
• Monitor client behavior and physical health, document changes, and communicate effectively with the care team and family members.
• Provide medication reminders, assist with light housekeeping, prepare balanced meals, and safely transport clients to appointments or outings.

Requirements

• Prior experience as a Direct Support Professional (DSP), Behavioral Health Tech, or Caregiver working with complex behavioral needs or IDD (Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities) preferred.
• A compassionate, calm demeanor paired with a strong commitment to high‑quality care.
• A cellphone with internet access.
• Strong communication, active listening, and conflict de‑escalation skills.
• Preferred certifications (not required): CNA, HHA, CPR, First Aid, AED.
• Candidates with prior dementia care experience are strongly encouraged to apply.
• Willingness to undergo background checks and provide proof of vaccination as required.

Pay

Hourly pay rate: $20‑$23 per hour, with additional overtime pay for 12‑hour shifts.

Shifts available: 12‑hour AM or NOC shifts, Monday‑Friday and weekends.
