Active Student Specialist Withdrawal

Responsibilities

• Determines the tuition obligation that students will owe to UTI upon their withdrawal.
• Determines and processes the appropriate Title IV refunds in accordance with Department of Education regulations.
• Completes a final file review for inactive student files ensuring that the Financial Aid Advisors properly processed the file while the student was enrolled.
• Responsible for all reports associated with the Return of Federal funds.
• Educates students and parents on tuition charges and required refunds to assist customers in understanding the information and next steps after they leave school.
• Processes and tracks refunds to ensure they are completed within mandated time frames.
• Provides federally mandated updates to the Department of Education’s Common Origination Disbursement web site.
• Stays abreast of Federal and State regulations.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school/GED required, some college preferred
• Minimum three years of experience in Financial Aid
• Experience with auditing and dealing with complicated calculations preferred
• Two years customer service experience

Skills

• Knowledge of Federal Return to Title IV Calculations required
• Understanding of the timeliness of returning Federal and State funds
• Must be detail oriented with excellent organizational skills
• Must be able to meet strict deadlines
• Must understand Federal and State regulations
• Excellent communication skills
• Basic computer software aptitude
