About the role
The Acquisition Specialist supports the Space Systems Command MilComm & PNT (SSC/CG) Directorate, providing actionable information, advice, and evaluations to streamline and optimize acquisition processes.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the business operations is optimized by analyzing and integrating program technical acquisition artifacts at the enterprise level.
- Develop, maintain, and update acquisition reports for Acquisition Category I, II, III, and Middle Tier Acquisition (MTA) programs.
- Prepare acquisition reporting materials, including program overviews, executive summaries, milestone status updates, and assessments of overall program health.
- Manage research and analytical efforts to ensure thorough results, comprehensive deliverables, and timely reviews.
- Analyze and support all phases of the Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) process to facilitate effective administration and program management.
- Assess program cost, schedule, and technical risks, identifying mitigation plans and efficiency initiatives.
- Track program baseline changes, capture logistics, test and evaluation, and requirements readiness characteristics.
- Integrate and correlate program performance data with the program baseline, accurately interpret acquisition program baseline thresholds and compliance.
Requirements
- This position requires an active DoD Secret Clearance.
- A Bachelor's degree in a related field such as management or business is required.
- At least 10 years of relevant experience is required.
- Understanding of Milcom & PNT satellite and ground systems is essential.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are necessary.
- Ability to maintain a professional bearing in all meetings, briefings, and discussions with senior staff is required.
Qualifications
- A Master’s degree in a related field such as management or business is preferred.
- 8 years’ experience performing acquisition efforts for major aerospace programs for DoD customers is preferred.
