About The Role

As a representative of H&R Block, you are responsible for providing an outstanding client experience by providing accurate and complete tax returns for clients. You will provide tax planning advice and strategies for both individual and entity returns to meet their tax objectives. Additionally, you may provide bookkeeping services for clients, when applicable. You will incorporate effective communication skills with both clients and fellow H&R Block associates, promoting teamwork and collaboration throughout the tax office and district.

Day to day, you'll...

  • Prepare highly complex tax returns and contact client to gather all necessary information in order to complete an accurate tax return
  • Perform bookkeeping work on behalf of clients as needed
  • Conduct tax interviews and research tax questions for the purpose of preparing complete and accurate tax returns
  • Introduce and offer to clients other H&R Block financial products and services with the goal of helping clients achieve their financial objectives
  • Collect necessary fees and submit fees and related documentation in accordance with the District General Manager instructions
  • Provide necessary tax information to clients as it relates to tax preparation and resolve client concerns in accordance with the District General Manager instructions
  • Finalize all highly complex tax returns so client can either request electronic filing or make arrangements to pick up completed return at the tax office
  • Take initiative to seek new highly complex clients by asking current clients for referrals and actively develop and execute client acquisition plans
  • May perform duties of other office support positions
  • Assist clients through IRS audits to prepare them for representation

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or the equivalent through a combination of education and related work experience
  • Associate must participate in the 15-hour continuing education requirement in order to be considered for rehire
  • 1 year minimum related work experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Travel may be required to attend company-sponsored meetings and training
