About the role

The Acquisition Program Manager (APM) manages an $80B enterprise portfolio that includes construction, security forces, and Air Force services publications. The APM’s primary responsibility is to lead multi-function teams and deliver timely, effective, efficient, and affordable Department of the Air Force (DAF) acquisition solutions to Mission Partners in support of strategic objectives.

This is a permanent, full-time position located at Joint Base San Antonio, Lackland. Travel is authorized up to 25%.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, lead, and manage critical aspects of research, development, production, and support of subsystems or equipment.
  • Integrate, analyze, and manage a variety of acquisition functions and personnel in support of the acquisition process.
  • Evaluate contractor proposals and activities using knowledge of business, industrial management, contracting procedures, technical concepts, and production practices.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • This position has been designated as an acquisition position and is covered by the Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP). The employee must meet or be capable of meeting Defense Acquisition Work Improvement Act (DAWIA) requirements applicable to the duties of the position.
  • Employee is expected to meet Continuing Acquisition Education requirements.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance.
  • 6-9 years of relevant experience requested.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of laws, principles, policies, and practices of systems acquisition and program management.
  • Knowledge of business, industrial management, contracting procedures, technical concepts, and production practices.
  • Knowledge of the missions, roles, functions, organizational structures, and operations of the Department of Defense, Air Force, and other entities that govern, interface with, and/or influence the systems acquisition process.
  • Ability to integrate and manage a variety of acquisition functions and personnel.

Pay

$90,823 - $140,403 per year.
