ACI Certified Construction Technician

About the role

Intertek’s Building & Construction division is seeking an ACI Certified Construction Technician to perform testing, project-specific observations, and site assessments in the West Texas area. The role involves travel to local projects, with a focus on concrete testing, nuclear density testing, and soil testing. The ideal candidate will work under general supervision and follow detailed controlled procedures to operate testing equipment, assess data, and maintain accurate documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing, project-specific observations, and site assessments under general supervision or detailed controlled procedures.
• Operate testing equipment and conduct tests (e.g., soil, concrete, nuclear density) while assessing and reporting data.
• Work from drawings, specifications, and diagrams to perform tasks and interpret results.
• Make detailed observations, provide limited interpretation of results, and maintain thorough documentation of test outcomes.
• Use calculators to compute mathematical test results and communicate effectively with clients and project teams.
• Adhere to safety practices and policies to ensure personal safety and the safety of others.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Construction Materials Testing experience.
• ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician – Grade I Certification.
• Valid Driver’s License and reliable driving record.
• Willingness to travel overnight, 25–50% of the time.
• Effective communication skills (written, verbal, and listening) and solid interpersonal abilities.
• Basic math, calculator, and computer skills.
• Ability to read and understand work plans.
• Ability to work off-shift and overtime as needed.
