Acetylene Operator

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor acetylene generation and processing equipment
• Perform acetylene cylinder filling assignments including inspections, calculations, labeling, handling, and maintenance
• Execute daily work assignments ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements
• Conduct troubleshooting, minor maintenance, and routine inspection of equipment
• Operate and maintain process machinery and equipment
• Perform pre-fill and post-fill cylinder inspections to ensure safe transport and use
• Regularly inspect and maintain filling equipment and monitoring devices
• Accurately complete and maintain cylinder filling records

Requirements

• High School Degree or GED
• Minimum 1 year experience in an industrial setting
• Complete company-administered instruction and pass written and practical demonstration exams
• Ability to understand, follow procedures, and complete tasks on time
• Forklift training and experience preferred
• Capable of lifting 10–20 pounds regularly and occasionally lifting 50–100 pounds
• Ability to move containers and pallets weighing up to 2000 pounds using material handling equipment
• Strong safety focus
• Perform basic math functions and read/comprehend relevant documents
