Accounts Payable Specialist

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to support a busy finance team in Alexandria, Minnesota. This Long-term Contract opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys accurate invoice processing, staying organized in a fast-paced setting, and contributing to efficient payment operations. The person in this role will help maintain daily accounts payable activities while also providing support for process-focused tasks when workload allows. Responsibilities: • Process a high volume of invoices each day with close attention to accuracy, coding, and approval requirements. • Review and reconcile invoice details using established accounts payable procedures, including three-way matching when applicable. • Support payment operations by assisting with ACH transactions, check run activities, and related documentation. • Work within systems such as Syteline and Concur to enter, track, and manage accounts payable records. • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve invoice discrepancies, vendor questions, and approval delays in a timely manner. • Contribute to coverage needs during team leave periods and help maintain continuity across daily accounts payable functions. • Assist with targeted improvement efforts such as researching missed vendor discount opportunities and identifying workflow inefficiencies. • Participate in training and team coordination in a collaborative office environment with flexibility for a hybrid schedule. • Previous experience in accounts payable, invoice processing, or a closely related accounting support role. • Working knowledge of account coding, invoice review, and standard payment processes. • Familiarity with ACH payments, check runs, and high-volume transaction handling. • Ability to learn and use financial systems and automation tools effectively, including ERP or invoice management platforms. • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities with consistent accuracy. • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team in a collaborative environment. • Accounting education or an accounting-related background is preferred. • Prior exposure to three-way match processing is helpful.
