Accounts Payable Associate
About the role
The Accounts Payable Associate position at Kleinfelder’s San Diego office is responsible for managing administrative tasks related to cash disbursements, reviewing and verifying vendor invoices, processing employee expense reports, and preparing reports as needed. This role requires strong attention to detail and adherence to company policies and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Reviews and verifies vendor invoices to ensure accuracy and enters them into the financial system.
- Schedules prompt payment to suppliers and creditors.
- Processes, reviews, and prepares payments for employee expense reports and reimbursements according to company policy.
- Classifies and codes transactions to appropriate general ledger accounts and balances and reconciles data from various sources.
- Produces non-routine reports as needed, gathering information from multiple sources.
- Works under general supervision to perform specified daily activities such as maintaining Accounts Payable files, reconciling vendor statements, and data entry.
- Plans and uses resources efficiently, aiming to reduce costs and increase efficiency.
- Serves as backup on other Accounts Payable tasks.
- Prepares month-end Accounts Payable accruals and reversals for the following month.
- Fulfills all federal and state regulations, client requirements, and company policies, including taxes, labor laws, safety, building codes, and environmental regulations.
- Communicates information respectfully and organizes it appropriately, producing written information suitable for the intended audience.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school, preferred.
- 1 - 2 years of accounting or related experience required.
- Designated department experience desired.
Qualifications
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Experience with financial systems and software.

The expected salary range for this position is $31,777-$53,071, depending on experience and qualifications. Final salary is determined based on individual qualifications and experience.
