Accounts Payable Associate

About the role

This role ensures timely payment of invoices, compliance with company policies, and accurate financial reporting while supporting the accounting team with daily operations.

Responsibilities

• Review, code, and process vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
• Match invoices with purchase orders and receiving documents (3-way match).
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain organized and accurate accounts payable records and files.
• Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve payment issues.
• Assist with month-end closing activities related to accounts payable.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Support audits by providing required documentation.
• Perform data entry and general administrative accounting tasks as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred).
• 1–3 years of accounts payable or general accounting experience.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and AP processes.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with ERP or accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, NetSuite).
• Knowledge of tax regulations related to AP (e.g., sales tax, 1099 reporting).
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
