About the role
This role ensures timely payment of invoices, compliance with company policies, and accurate financial reporting while supporting the accounting team with daily operations.
Responsibilities
- Review, code, and process vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
- Match invoices with purchase orders and receiving documents (3-way match).
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain organized and accurate accounts payable records and files.
- Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve payment issues.
- Assist with month-end closing activities related to accounts payable.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Support audits by providing required documentation.
- Perform data entry and general administrative accounting tasks as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred).
- 1–3 years of accounts payable or general accounting experience.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and AP processes.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ERP or accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, NetSuite).
- Knowledge of tax regulations related to AP (e.g., sales tax, 1099 reporting).
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
