Position Summary
At AVANCEON Group, the Account Payable / Account Manager, Client Finance oversees the financial management of client projects and supports accurate financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and revenue management. This role collaborates closely with project managers and key business stakeholders to ensure strong financial performance, contract compliance, and operational efficiency. The position also provides leadership, guidance, and mentoring to junior finance team members while driving continuous process improvements and maintaining high standards of financial integrity and client service.
Essential Functions
- Supervise monthly project accounting efforts, prepare and lead monthly status meetings with project managers, and manage project updates across financial trackers.
- Review and reconcile new contracts and assess related projects, ensuring accuracy of project setup and understanding contract components, including milestones/tasks and intercompany components.
- Review and address concerns regarding project tracking and funds compared to project budgets, report and present project financials to project leads and stakeholders.
- Set up new clients in accounting systems and files, add and map employees to new billable rates, and review MSAs for rebates and discounts.
- Review and update intercompany revenue/cost transactions and maintain shared financial trackers.
- Manage intercompany contract execution, compare cost allocations to overall project budget, facilitate project scope changes with other finance teams and project leads, and manage business unit project revenues.
- Understand and elevate potential issues to ensure proper accounting and revenue recognition in accordance with GAAP, prepare monthly project revenue forecasts, and manage hours and expenses for client projects.
- Manage client invoicing based on contracts, reconcile issues, and follow up on past due invoices, manage unbilled revenue aging, and adhere to client invoicing guidelines.
- Review and submit monthly client accruals, consolidate accruals with other Precision entities as applicable, and review client business development opportunities in Salesforce.
- Review project costs compared to contracted amounts and other direct costs shared across projects/clients, manage subcontractor agreements, and forecast future subcontractor costs.
- Review and reconcile monthly general ledger account reconciliations for accuracy and completeness, collaborate with SG&A team, review coding expense reports, invoices, and credit card bookings, and assist with ad hoc projects.
- Prepare supporting documents and schedules for the annual audit, manage up where audit deliverables require additional collaboration/input, and proactively identify cost savings and process efficiencies.
- Collaborate with FP&A as applicable, highlight key drivers for variance explanations to budget/forecast, assist with revenue and expense inputs for reporting and analysis, and advise staff on best practices in client finances and non-routine financial transactions.
- Manage and mentor direct reports and junior staff through career development, play a part in the month-end close process, and begin to oversee some areas.
