Accounting Specialist
About The Opportunity
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join a growing accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with accounting experience who enjoys working with reconciliations, invoicing, and data entry in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, and able to manage deadlines while maintaining accuracy. This position offers the potential to transition into a full-time, permanent opportunity based on performance and business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly accounts receivable (AR) client invoice billings
- Generate and maintain monthly internal billing reports
- Perform high-volume daily and monthly account reconciliations
- Investigate, follow up on, and resolve outstanding reconciliation items
- Enter and maintain accurate financial data within accounting systems
- Aid with month-end close activities and meet established deadlines
- Support additional accounting-related tasks and projects as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of accounting experience
- Understanding of basic accounting principles, including debits and credits
- Experience with invoicing and account reconciliations
- Strong data entry skills and attention to detail
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including data entry and basic formulas
- Strong computer proficiency and ability to learn new systems
- Experience working in the financial services industry
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using QuickBooks
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Candidates with a high school diploma and significant accounting experience will also be considered

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Decatur, IL.
Pay And Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
