About the role
A skilled professional to manage the comprehensive lifecycle of equity trades, with a balanced focus on fund accounting and operations. The ideal candidate will ensure seamless trade operations and accurate fund accounting processes.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review fund NAV calculations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Support the month-end close process by reconciling accounts and preparing financial statements for funds.
- Collaborate with auditors during fund audits and provide necessary documentation and explanations.
- Oversee the entire lifecycle of equity trades, including capture, enrichment, and affirmation.
- Act as the primary point of contact for the trading desk to resolve execution issues, broken trades, or booking errors.
- Perform daily cash and position reconciliations between internal systems, prime brokers, and fund administrators to ensure 100% accuracy.
- Monitor and process corporate actions and dividends specifically related to long and short equity positions.
- Liaise daily with prime brokers and executing brokers to manage settlements and mitigate fail risk.
- Identify bottlenecks in the "front-to-back" flow and suggest automated solutions to scale the operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related quantitative field.
- 2-4 years of experience in trade operations, middle office, or fund accounting.
- A robust understanding of Equity products (common stock, ETFs) is mandatory.
- Familiarity with other products such as equity swaps, options, or credit instruments is a significant advantage.
- Deep understanding of the trade lifecycle, from execution through to settlement and NAV impact.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate confidently with senior Traders and PMs in a high-pressure environment.
- Proficiency in Excel (v-lookups, macros) is required; experience with Bloomberg, Omgeo (CTM/OASYS), or portfolio accounting systems (Advent, Enfusion, etc.) is highly preferred.
