Accounting Manager/Supervisor

We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager/Supervisor to lead core financial operations and support accurate, timely reporting for the organization. This role oversees day-to-day accounting activities, strengthens internal controls, and helps ensure compliance with applicable financial and payroll regulations. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, sound judgment, and the ability to guide priorities across a fast-paced environment while mentoring team members. Responsibilities: • Direct daily accounting operations across payables, receivables, payroll, cash activity, treasury functions, and general ledger maintenance. • Lead the month-end close process by reviewing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and ensuring financial records are complete and accurate. • Prepare and review financial reports that support leadership decision-making and meet audit and regulatory expectations. • Monitor internal control practices, identify process risks or discrepancies, and implement corrective actions to improve accuracy and compliance. • Manage banking and treasury activities, including electronic payments, wire transfers, investment tracking, and bank reconciliations. • Coordinate audit preparation by organizing documentation, responding to auditor requests, and supporting the completion of financial statement audits. • Supervise and develop accounting staff through coaching, performance guidance, and ongoing support for growth. • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local requirements related to accounting, payroll, and financial transactions. • Use financial systems, general ledger tools, and Excel-based analysis to track activity, resolve issues, and support operational reporting. • At least 5 years of accounting experience, including responsibility for month-end close and general ledger oversight. • Strong command of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and audit support practices. • Hands-on experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, account reconciliations, and journal entry review. • Knowledge of banking, cash management, treasury operations, and related financial transaction controls. • Familiarity with federal, state, and local regulations affecting accounting and payroll activities. • Proficiency with financial management software, general ledger systems, and Microsoft Excel. • Demonstrated leadership ability with experience supervising staff, developing talent, and managing competing deadlines. • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, discretion with confidential information, and sound judgment.
