Accounting Manager - Future Openings | Any U.S. Location
Cobalt Service Partners is a private equity-backed platform building a leading commercial access and security integration business in North America, backed by Alpine Investors and growing through acquisition across the country. We hire Accounting Managers on an ongoing basis to run accounting operations at our operating companies.
About the Role
Our Accounting Managers own the day-to-day accounting operation for a single operating company: the monthly close, internal and external reporting, controls, payroll oversight, and support of the annual audit. This is a hands-on, in-the-details role that partners closely with our regional finance team. Because our businesses are project-based, revenue recognition, job costing, and cash discipline sit at the center of the work. Scope and team size vary by operating company.
Responsibilities
- Run the monthly close, deliver a fast and accurate flash, and continuously improve the speed and accuracy of the process.
- Manage revenue recognition and job costing for projects, including inventory management and cycle counts where applicable.
- Prepare the financial package and variance analysis, and manage a 13-week forward-looking cash flow forecast.
- Maintain and improve controls, budgets, and KPIs, and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Work in the operating company's ERP and support system implementations and integrations alongside the regional finance team.
- Where a team exists, manage and develop the accounting staff; ensure accurate payroll, AR, and AP.
Requirements
- Roughly 5 to 8 years of progressive accounting experience, with genuine hands-on ownership of the monthly close.
- Strong command of GAAP, with fluency in reconciliations, accruals, and financial reporting.
- Experience running close and reporting across multiple entities, branches, or subsidiaries.
- Comfort in accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, ServiceTitan) with the ability to learn and work in new ones.
- Strong Excel and data-modeling skills, and the self-direction to bring structure to ambiguity without hand-holding.
Preferred Qualifications
- Public accounting foundation.
- Project-based, construction, or inventory-heavy experience (job costing, WIP, cycle counts).
- Prior experience supervising a small team.
- CPA certification.
Benefits
- Competitive base salary and performance-based bonus, benchmarked to your market and the scope of the role.
- Full health benefits.
- 401(k) with match.
- Paid time off.
- Professional development support.

- The chance to build and strengthen finance processes as we scale across a growing set of companies.
