Accounting Manager (Construction)

About the role

Our client is seeking a hands-on Accounting Manager to join their growing finance team. Despite the title, this is an individual contributor role responsible for overseeing the full accounting cycle, leading month-end close, and coordinating accounting operations across the organization. Responsibilities

• Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Manage general ledger accounting, journal entries, and financial reporting.
• Prepare financial packages for management review.
• Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Manage loan accounting and construction financing activities.
• Process weekly payroll and support vendor compliance initiatives.
• Coordinate accounting processes across multiple departments to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
• Identify process improvements and support additional accounting and finance projects as needed.

Requirements

• Experience working as an Accounting Manager, Accounting Supervisor, Assistant Controller, or Controller
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting (Finance considered with strong accounting background)
• 3–5 years of Construction Accounting experience
• Experience with:
  • Month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Loan management/construction financing
  • General accounting

Preferred Qualifications

• Multi-entity/company accounting experience
• Bank reconciliations
• Weekly payroll processing
• Vendor compliance/vendor management

Pay

$90,000 - $120,000 per year (DOE)
