Key Responsibilities
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes by managing team deliverables, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to deadlines across assigned areas of responsibility, including but not limited to inventory, fixed assets, revenue recognition
- Lead, mentor, and develop supporting staff accountants, fostering accountability, engagement, and professional growth
- Manage team workload, priorities, and deadlines to ensure accounting activities are completed accurately and on schedule
- Prepare, review, and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules to ensure compliance with US GAAP and company policies
- Review trial balances, financial statements, and variance analyses to identify trends, investigate anomalies, and provide insights to management
- Manage workload, priorities, and deadlines to ensure accounting activities are completed accurately and on schedule
- Support internal and external audits, management reporting, tax-related requests, and resolution of audit findings and accounting issues
- Collaborate with FP&A, operations, and cross-functional teams to support budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and process improvement initiatives
- Identify and implement opportunities for automation, enhanced reporting efficiency, and continuous process improvement
- Perform other accounting duties and support finance team members as required or assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or CPA license required
- Strong knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) required
- Minimum of five (5) years of relevant, progressive accounting experience required
- Big 4 experience preferred
- Expertise in ERP systems required, expertise in multiple ERP systems a plus, ERP implementation experience a plus, Oracle experience a plus
- Expertise in the use of Microsoft Excel and other software programs available to maximize efficiency required
- Knowledge of accounting for a manufacturing environment preferred
- Ability to prioritize workload, and meet multiple deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced, frequently changing environment with little to no supervision required
- Ability to be self-motivated and able to accomplish tasks with minimal guidance required
- Detail orientation and problem-solving skills required
- Superior verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate successfully with people at many levels within the company required
