Accounting Manager

About the role

The Business Enterprise Advisors (BEA) team at Withum is seeking a manager to join our offices in various locations including Lincolnshire, IL; Buffalo, NY; Rochester, NY; New York, NY; Philadelphia, PA; Boston, MA; Burlington, MA; Braintree, MA; Providence, RI; Whippany, NJ; East Brunswick, NJ; Princeton, NJ; Red Bank, NJ; Tysons Corner, VA; Columbia, MD; Orlando, FL; Boca Raton, FL; Nashville, TN; Houston, TX; Seattle, WA; Portland, OR; San Francisco, CA; Encino, CA; Irvine, CA; or Carlsbad, CA. This role is a hybrid position (3 days in the office).

Responsibilities

• Analyzing financial statements, assessing risks, and providing recommendations on cost reduction, revenue enhancement, and profit maximization
• Identifying bottlenecks, streamlining processes, and suggesting improvements to enhance productivity and reduce costs
• Developing and implementing change management plans to ensure smooth transitions during organizational changes
• Providing supervision, training and support to the engagement staff and promoting open communication to the engagement partner and manager
• Inspiring, developing, mentoring, and retaining staff while providing challenging assignments
• Reviewing and supervising the preparation of compilation and review level financial statements
• Collaborating cross-functionally with our tax, assurance and accounting, and advisory groups to identify opportunities to fully service the clients
• Remaining current on technical and industry developments and standards, while evaluating the potential impact on clients' business and financial position
• Participating in client proposals and identifying new business development opportunities

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a business-related field of study
• CPA license required
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a local or mid-sized CPA firm or a tax consulting practice, with food & beverage industry experience being a plus
• Experience working with a high volume of financial statements with tight deadlines
• Strong accounting technical background along with a curiosity and willingness to stay current on all key law changes
• Excellent analytical, organizational, project management, and technical skills
• Exceptional client service and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships
• Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing projects in a rapidly growing, fast-paced, interactive, results-based team environment
• Strong leadership, training, and mentoring skills, coupled with excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills to represent the Firm well to client's management

Qualifications

• Must have a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a business-related field of study
• CPA license is required
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in a local or mid-sized CPA firm or tax consulting practice
• Experience with high volume of financial statements and tight deadlines
• Strong technical background in accounting
• Proven ability to stay current on legal and industry developments
• Excellent client service and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple engagements and projects
• Strong leadership, training, and mentoring skills

Benefits

The compensation for this position ranges from $120,000-$140,000. In addition to the base compensation, Withum offers a competitive benefits package and bonus program (for eligible roles) based on individual and firm performance.
