Accounting Manager

About The Role

Our client is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounting Manager / Full Charge Bookkeeper to oversee the day-to-day accounting operations of a growing construction-related business. This role is responsible for managing the full accounting cycle, including general ledger maintenance, payroll, accounts payable and receivable, reconciliations, and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the full-cycle accounting process, including general ledger, journal entries, and account reconciliations in accordance with GAAP.
• Process and maintain accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR).
• Administer payroll using QuickBooks Online, ensuring timely payroll processing and tax compliance.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and resolve accounting discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate financial records and support audit and tax preparation activities.
• Utilize QuickBooks Online (QBO), QuickBooks Desktop, and related accounting software to manage financial transactions.
• Aid with budgeting, cash flow tracking, and financial reporting.
• Provide occasional administrative support, including answering phones and greeting visitors when needed.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and payroll tax regulations.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience in a small business environment.
• Strong experience with QuickBooks Online (QBO) and QuickBooks Desktop.
• Solid understanding of GAAP, general ledger accounting, and financial reporting.
• Experience processing payroll and payroll tax filings.
• Strong knowledge of AP, AR, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software.
• Construction industry bookkeeping experience is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with JobTread or similar construction management software.
• Background in construction, contracting, or project-based accounting.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
