Accounting Manager

About the role

The Accounting Manager will oversee the accounting operations of Nerdy, a company behind Varsity Tutors, focusing on accurate financial reporting, compliance, and process optimization.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including month-end close responsibilities and preparation of financial statements.
• Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying areas for improvement.
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance and training.
• Collaborate with other departments to streamline financial processes.
• Prepare and present financial reports and analyses to senior management.
• Identify opportunities for process optimization and cost-saving measures.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation for all accounting transactions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting management roles.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent certification.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office suite.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
