Accounting Manager
About the role
The Accounting Manager is responsible for daily accounting activities. This role involves maintaining and analyzing financial information and preparing various financial reports and schedules to track assets, liabilities, and profit and loss.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the financial books and records are maintained accurately and on time.
- Manage timely and accurate processing of accounts payable, employee expenses, account reconciliations, account analysis, and other month end close activities.
- Aid with company-wide consolidated financial reporting.
- Participate in analyzing budget versus actual performance.
- Aid with budget preparation.
- Identify business process improvements, implement best practices, and maximize the use of the Company’s ERP system capabilities.
- Support Accounting personnel with various projects, reconciliations, and analyses.
- Aid external auditors required to complete their engagements.
- Analyze, review, and perform month-end reconciliations of general ledger accounts.
- Aid with monthly journal entries, month-end closings, and year-end closings.
- Contribute to specific projects and analyses as needed.
- Document key accounting policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree in accounting or finance from an accredited college or university.
- Four to eight years of relevant experience.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required.
- Strong skills in MS Office suite, with advanced proficiency in Excel.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of accounting principles.
- Dynamic personality with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new and changing environments.
- Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail.
- Able to work independently and take action, with strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent time management, planning, and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
- Exceptional listening, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with executives, managers, and subject matter experts from diverse backgrounds.
- Logical, efficient, and creative approach, with keen attention to detail.
- Highly self-motivated and self-directed.
- Able to effectively prioritize and execute tasks under pressure.
- Experience with acquisition integration is a plus.
- Relevant experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare sectors is advantageous.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit for long periods of time, use hands to type, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Prefer candidates who can type at least 35 words per minute with 97% accuracy. Although very minimal, flexibility to travel as needed is preferred. This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, etc.
