Accounting Manager

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager for a contract-to-hire opportunity to lead day-to-day accounting operations and support the financial stewardship of a non-profit organization. The Accounting Manager is a key member of the finance team, responsible for overseeing the organization's accounting operations, fund accounting activities, financial reporting, and month-end close processes. This role ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial records, supports audit and compliance requirements, and serves as the subject matter expert for Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT and Raiser's Edge.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all month-end, quarter-end, and year-end accounting activities, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Oversee fund accounting for restricted, unrestricted, and donor-designated funds while ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards and donor requirements.
• Direct accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, bank reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
• Prepare financial reports, analyses, and audit schedules to support leadership decision-making and annual audit requirements.
• Serve as the lead user of Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT, driving reporting accuracy, process improvements, and system efficiency.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate recording and reporting of gifts, endowments, and other fund activity.
• Support and oversee accounting staff or outsourced accounting functions while promoting strong controls, accountability, and operational excellence.
