About the role
The Accounting Manager oversees the accounting staff of assigned units, ensuring accurate and consistent account coding, reviewing and approving journal entries, A/P, expense/reimbursement, and A/R workflows, and closing assigned units by standard deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Solve day-to-day issues and assist with coding and other accounting matters
- Train and evaluate new and existing staff
- Cover staff absences appropriately
- Review month-end closing packets for completeness and accuracy
- Support Officers and Financial Planning and Budgeting Analyst
- Analyze financial reports and prepare budget documents
- Implement financial policies and procedures
- Maintain internal audit controls
- Interact with other TSA departments and staff
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- Minimum of 5 years of prior experience in accounting and reconciliations
- 3-4 years of supervisory experience
- Proficiency in Excel and Word
- Experience with computerized accounting software
- Direct experience with external audits
Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills
- Valid Hawaii driver’s license
