Accounting Manager

About the role

The Accounting Manager oversees the accounting staff of assigned units, ensuring accurate and consistent account coding, reviewing and approving journal entries, A/P, expense/reimbursement, and A/R workflows, and closing assigned units by standard deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Solve day-to-day issues and assist with coding and other accounting matters
• Train and evaluate new and existing staff
• Cover staff absences appropriately
• Review month-end closing packets for completeness and accuracy
• Support Officers and Financial Planning and Budgeting Analyst
• Analyze financial reports and prepare budget documents
• Implement financial policies and procedures
• Maintain internal audit controls
• Interact with other TSA departments and staff

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting
• Minimum of 5 years of prior experience in accounting and reconciliations
• 3-4 years of supervisory experience
• Proficiency in Excel and Word
• Experience with computerized accounting software
• Direct experience with external audits

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills
• Valid Hawaii driver’s license

Benefits

Annual salary range: $75,000 to $95,000
