Search Solution Group is seeking an Accounting Manager for a leading steel and metal manufacturing company in Norfolk, Nebraska. This role is a key member of the division leadership team, overseeing all accounting and financial operations while leading the finance team to operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Lead all day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, fixed assets, tax accounting, inventory accounting, and financial reporting.
- Oversee month-end and year-end close processes to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, forecasts, budgets, and management reports.
- Assist in the development and management of the annual operating budget and financial forecasts.
- Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Oversee inventory accounting, reconciliation, and reporting activities.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
- Lead internal and external audit processes while maintaining audit readiness.
- Develop, implement, and communicate accounting policies, procedures, and financial controls.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting systems, processes, and operational efficiencies.
- Provide financial analysis and decision support to operations and other business departments.
- Drive cost reduction initiatives and continuous improvement efforts across the organization.
- Lead, mentor, train, and develop members of the finance team.
- Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.
- Champion workplace safety by supporting and enforcing company safety policies and procedures.
- Support strategic initiatives and prepare for future leadership opportunities within the organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, finance, or a related financial leadership role.
- Experience managing general accounting functions, financial reporting, and month-end close.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Manufacturing or cost accounting experience preferred.
- Leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
- Experience coordinating internal and external audits.
- SAP ERP experience preferred.
- CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- MBA or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred.
