About The Role
The Accounting Manager owns the month-end close process, financial reporting accuracy, and internal controls framework. This role ensures all corporate accounting practices align strictly with US GAAP, SOX compliance, and SEC reporting guidelines as the business scales. Operating within a fast-paced corporate finance department, the role acts as a critical link between daily transactional accounting and high-level financial analysis. The team relies on this position to maintain general ledger integrity, implement robust control procedures, and deliver audit-ready financial statements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely consolidated financial statements.
- Oversee general ledger activities including reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analyses across multiple entities.
- Maintain, document, and test internal controls in compliance with SOX 404 requirements to mitigate reporting risks.
- Support the preparation of SEC-aligned financial disclosures, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reporting.
- Coordinate external audit requests, acting as the primary point of contact for audit inquiries and resolving issues systematically.
- Partner with FP&A and Operations teams to build scalable accounting workflows and implement automated financial systems.
What We Are Looking For
- 5-8 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally combining Big 4 public accounting and corporate tech environment experience.
- Active CPA license and a strong foundation in US GAAP, SOX frameworks, and SEC reporting requirements.
- Proven expertise with mid-to-enterprise ERP systems (such as NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or SAP) and advanced Excel modeling capabilities.
- Demonstrated ability to lead close processes and manage direct reports or external contractors effectively.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a highly related analytical field.
- Bonus: Experience managing system migrations or implementing automated reconciliation tools like BlackLine.
