About the role
The Foundation for Santa Barbara City College is the fundraising arm of Santa Barbara City College, dedicated to supporting scholarships, programs, and opportunities through donor generosity.
Responsibilities
- Process invoices, contracts, and organizational obligations;
- Prepare invoices to the College and donors;
- Routine financial report preparation;
- Preparation of journal entries for prepaid expenses, depreciation, gift fees, and payroll;
- Audit and board support: preparing audit schedules, board and committee meeting packets, and taking minutes;
- Tax and compliance: preparing 1099s and assisting with the annual 990 filing;
- Maintain Finance shared drive, manage offsite records, and assist with organizational events.
Requirements
- Advanced proficiency with Financial Edge (or comparable fund accounting software) and Microsoft Excel;
- Intermediate proficiency with Google Suite;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills;
- Sharp attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines;
- A self-starter mindset with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance;
- Experience in a nonprofit or higher education environment;
- Familiarity with Blackbaud or similar donor database systems.

Pay & Benefits
The expected pay range for this role is $43.00 - $48.00 per hour. The Foundation also offers a benefits package including:
