Responsibilities
Direct the monthly and year-end close process, ensuring deadlines are met and financial data is complete and accurate.
Manage general ledger activity, including the review and approval of journal entries and supporting documentation.
Oversee reconciliations for bank accounts and balance sheet accounts, resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
Supervise accounts payable and accounts receivable workflows to promote accurate processing and effective cash management.
Prepare internal financial reports and assist with external audit requests by organizing records and responding to inquiries.
Support budgeting and forecasting activities by analyzing results, identifying trends, and contributing to financial planning.
Monitor accounting procedures and recommend improvements that enhance efficiency, consistency, and compliance.
Utilize Sage 50 and other accounting tools to maintain records, generate reports, and support daily financial operations.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience managing full-cycle accounting functions in a leadership or supervisory capacity.
- Strong knowledge of month-end close, general ledger maintenance, and financial reconciliation practices.
- Hands-on experience with journal entries, bank reconciliations, and balance sheet account analysis.
- Familiarity with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial statement audit support.
- Proficiency with Sage 50 and comfort working within accounting systems and reporting tools.
- Experience contributing to budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required.
- The position is 100% onsite and will require some to live in the local Knoxville or surrounding areas.
Pay
$90,000 - $100,000 USD / Yearly
