About This Role
As the Accounting Manager at PEAK6, you'll play a key role in maintaining the general ledger and supporting the month-end close and consolidation process for PEAK6 and its subsidiary businesses. This individual will report to the Assistant Controller. Ideal candidates will demonstrate the ability to manage multiple projects and responsibilities, maximize process efficiency, drive automation, and improve speed to delivery. Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a corporate accounting team of 1-3, coordinating closely with other corporate accounting functions such as accounts payable, treasury, payroll, and FP&A.
- Support the consolidation of multiple entities, including tracking of intercompany transactions, capital contributions, and loans between the parent and subsidiaries.
- Own the timeliness and accuracy of the month-end close process at the corporate entities and across business units, including preparing, reviewing, and finalizing monthly and annual financial reports.
- Maintain the general ledger and chart of accounts, ensuring accurate and consistent account coding across the organization.
- Support Treasury in cash movements, tracking, loans, and other cash functions.
- Support Partner equity accounting and communications.
- Identify and drive process improvements, automation, and standardization within corporate accounting to increase efficiency and reduce exposure to financial misstatements.
- Partner with business unit accountants on intercompany transactions and loans to ensure monthly and quarterly close processes result in timely close and accurate financial statements across the firm.
- Help build and maintain internal controls in corporate accounting to ensure the accuracy of corporate and business financial statements.
- Support the year-end audit process, serving as a key point of contact for external auditors and internal staff.
- Train and develop accounting staff, contributing to an effective and efficient team.
- Assist in evaluating and maintaining software tools used for accounting and financial reporting.
- Support the adoption of AI and automation tools within finance to create efficiencies in processes and analysis.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA or progress toward CPA preferred.
- Solid month-end close experience, including exposure to multi-subsidiary consolidations.
- Working knowledge of US GAAP and FASB; familiarity with SEC and PCAOB requirements a plus.
- Experience with NetSuite is preferred.
- 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within a multi-entity organization.
- Cross-functional experience working within a growing or complex organization.
- Strong project management, planning, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with or strong interest in leveraging AI for business automation processes.
- Continuous improvement mindset; ability to seek out and implement internal or external best practices.
- Strong analytical ability and attention to detail, with a drive to solve problems.

Pay
Base Salary Range: $99,200-$124,000. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in addition to a range of health & wellness benefits, enhancing your overall compensation package.
