Accounting Manager
About the role
The Accounting Manager leads a team of accountants and oversees accounting and financial reporting activities within the organization. This position is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial results, managing the month end close process, reviewing balance sheet reconciliations, supporting audit requirements, maintaining internal controls, and partnering with operations and leadership to drive effective financial management and continuous process improvement.
Responsibilities
- Lead, develop, and supervise a team of accounting professionals, providing coaching, guidance, and performance management.
- Oversee the month end, quarter end, and year end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of financial information and reporting.
- Analyze financial results, investigate variances and trends, and partner with leadership to resolve issues and drive informed decision making.
- Maintain effective internal controls and ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Partner with operational and corporate leadership to address accounting matters and support organizational objectives.
- Drive process improvements, standardization efforts, and automation initiatives to improve efficiency, scalability, and accuracy.
- Provide technical accounting guidance and mentorship to accounting staff.
- Support acquisitions, system implementations, and other business initiatives as assigned.
- Lead and participate in cross functional projects, ad hoc analyses, and strategic initiatives to support the organization's continued growth and evolving business needs.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience leading, supervising, or managing accounting professionals preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to coach, develop, and provide performance feedback to employees.
- Ability to effectively prioritize work, delegate responsibilities, and manage competing deadlines.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- CPA preferred; active pursuit of CPA certification required.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience required.
- Previous management, supervisory, or team leadership experience preferred.
Pay
$110,000 - $125,000
