About the role
We're hiring an Accounting Manager to help build the accounting foundation for Numeral’s next stage of growth. Reporting to our Controller, you'll be a hands-on owner of the month-end close, core accounting operations, AR/AP, billing and invoicing workflows, balance sheet reconciliations, audit readiness, and finance systems improvements.
Responsibilities
- Own key parts of the monthly close process, including the close calendar, journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, flux analysis, and supporting schedules
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations across cash, AR, AP, prepaid expenses, accruals, deferred revenue utilizing ASC 606, fixed assets, payroll-related accounts, and other GL accounts
- You’re comfortable leveraging AI to unblock yourself and create a process flow. The ideal candidate can problem solve and present solutions with minimal oversight
- Partner with the Controller to improve close quality, reduce manual work by leveraging AI and automations, and move toward a faster, more predictable monthly close
- Own AR, AP, billing, invoicing, and collections workflows, ensuring transactions are accurate, timely, and well documented
- Work cross-functionally with Sales and Customer Success to resolve billing questions, contract changes and collections matters
- Partner with the Controller on finance systems migration and audit preparedness
- Take on ad hoc projects as needed
Requirements
- 5–8+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally with a mix of public accounting and high-growth SaaS company experience. CPA license is a plus
- Strong working knowledge of US GAAP, ASC 606, subscription billing, and experience driving the month end close process in a fast paced company
- Knowledge to run the AR, AP, billing, invoicing, collections, and order-to-cash processes. Experience supporting audits and preparing clean, well-documented workpapers
- Systems orientation, with experience using ERPs and modern finance tools such as NetSuite, Rillet, Campfire, QuickBooks, Ramp, Brex, Stripe, Salesforce, HubSpot, or Orb
- Advanced Excel / Google Sheets skills and comfort working with large datasets
- High attention to detail and a strong bias toward clean documentation, clear ownership, and repeatable processes
- Ability to operate in ambiguity, prioritize competing deadlines, and improve processes while still getting the close done
- Leveraging AI to build out workflows and speed up the close process
- Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively with non-accounting stakeholders
- Low-ego, high-ownership operating style. You are comfortable rolling up your sleeves and doing the work
