Accounting Manager

Position Summary

The Accounting Manager at Nemacolin will lead the accounting team, drive process improvements, automation, and data consolidation across systems. The candidate will oversee accounting operations, ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, and serve as a key resource for internal and external stakeholders.

Essential Functions

• Manages and develops Accounting Clerks, AP Clerks, and Staff Accountants, including training and performance oversight.
• Led the development, documentation, and communication of SOPs and internal controls.
• Oversees month-end close activities, including accruals, reclasses, and review of Preliminary and Final P&Ls.
• Authorizes invoices for payment in Stampli approval software.
• Implements and maintains balance sheet reconciliation processes, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
• Oversees GL accounts and transcodes; partners with IT to establish new codes as needed.
• Reviews and approves monthly balance sheet reconciliations and daily/weekly reconciliations.
• Manages year-end reporting, including 1099 NEC and 1099 Misc.
• Serves as primary contact for audit inquiries and assists with year-end financial statements.
• Reviews and approves timecards; supports AP and Payroll as needed.
• Led and participates in special projects and process improvement initiatives.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Required

• BS in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred.
• 2+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Strong leadership, organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to coach, develop, and support team members.
• Efficiency-driven mindset with a strong work ethic and proactive attitude.
