Accounting Manager
The Role
The Accounting Manager serves as a key member of the Finance Team. Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Accounting Manager will be responsible for the accounting and financial functions, including general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, cash management, financial reporting, and month-end and year-end close processes for the Company. This role prepares monthly financial statements, supports budgeting and forecasting activities, supervises accounting staff, and coordinates audits and tax filings while ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls. In addition, the Accounting Manager will also oversee the Company’s Capital Program, which includes tenant capital assessments and grant administration. Working closely with project stakeholders, the role ensures accurate financial tracking and reporting, manages Capital Program and ERP dashboards, monitors financial performance, and implements controls and cost-management initiatives that support Company objectives. With the ability to interpret financial data and make sound business decisions, the Accounting Manager is expected to be highly organized, analytical, and capable of managing a team while effectively balancing multiple priorities with accuracy and confidentiality.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- CPA required
- 5 years of public/private accounting experience required
- Real estate accounting experience preferred
- Supervisory experience preferred
- A.A.E. accreditation a plus but not required
- Experience with Microsoft Business Dynamics (Business Central) a plus
