Accounting Manager

Milender White, a Graham Building Company, is seeking a seasoned and driven Accounting Manager to join the Finance team in Arvada, CO. This role is a key player in ensuring the financial integrity of a dynamic, multi‑entity construction group, overseeing complex subcontractor payments, lien law compliance, and leading a high‑performing accounting team supporting major projects across Colorado and California.

Responsibilities

• Review all G/L transactions, including A/R invoicing, A/P vouchering, and G/L journal entries.
• Full G/L cycle closing of books, including account reconciliation preparation for review.
• Manage accounts receivable, including problem resolution and collection management.
• Develop operational, data documentation, and troubleshooting procedures.
• Manage operational data to ensure integrity and accuracy.
• Enhance project teams’ financial acumen.
• Process accounts payable and payments.
• Collaborate with the parent’s shared services in payroll and HR.
• Develop operational procedures and document data flow.
• Review state and local tax filings, research and resolve discrepancies and tax notices.
• Assist the Controller with the annual external year‑end audit and tax compliance.
• Provide oversight, supervision, coaching, and training for accounting personnel.
• Lead other projects as assigned, such as software implementation and financial analysis.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting/finance (required).
• Minimum 7 years of accounting experience, including work with Work‑in‑Progress (WIP) and a thorough understanding of balance‑sheet fundamentals (required).
• Supervisory experience of a small group (preferred).
• Experience in construction or a construction‑related industry (required).

Skills

• Extensive use of job‑cost accounting systems, preferably Sage 300 CRE, Procore, and Textura.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software packages.
• Ability to build business relationships across functions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational and time‑management abilities.
• Understanding of accounting principles, including GAAP.
• Understanding of financial controls and systems.

Pay

The base salary range for the Accounting Manager role is $109,040 to $156,745 annually, depending on experience, qualifications, and market conditions. This role may also be eligible for an annual performance bonus and company benefits.
