Accounting Manager

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, project accounting, and treasury functions.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop two accounting team members, ensuring accountability, professional growth, and high performance.
  • Prepare and review monthly and annual financial statements.
  • Oversight general ledger activity, journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end/year-end close processes.
  • Maintain balance sheet integrity through timely and accurate reconciliations and analysis.
  • Support multi-entity accounting and financial consolidations.
  • Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), internal policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Cook up coordination and support annual financial reviews, tax filings, and other compliance-related activities by preparing schedules, documentation, and responding to auditor requests.
  • Drive continuous improvement in accounting processes, systems, controls, and reporting efficiencies.
  • Support system implementations, upgrades, and process enhancement initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field a plus.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibilities.
  • Mechanical industry experience is required.
  • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting requirements.
  • Experience managing month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Proven ability to supervise, coach, develop, and motivate staff.
  • Demonstrated success in delegating tasks, managing priorities, and holding team members accountable to expectations.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, pivot tables, lookups, and financial analysis.
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and multi-entity accounting preferred.
