Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the daily accounting operations, including Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
- Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Maintain the integrity of the general ledger, including oversight of accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, and other balance sheet accounts.
- Monitor cash flow, working capital, and aging reports to ensure timely collections and vendor payments.
- Analyze financial results, identify trends or anomalies, and provide actionable insights to Finance leadership.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with FP&A, Operations, Supply Chain, IT, and other cross-functional teams to ensure the accuracy of financial data and resolve discrepancies.
- Develop, document, and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to enhance efficiency and compliance.
- Support ERP system enhancements, process automation, and other continuous improvement initiatives.
Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and supporting schedules.
- Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, company accounting policies, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Support internal and external audits by coordinating requests, preparing documentation, and responding to audit inquiries.
- Partner with Finance leadership to improve reporting accuracy, consistency, and operational efficiency.
- Assist with tax reporting, compliance activities, and other regulatory filings as needed.
- Monitor evolving accounting guidance and support implementation of new accounting standards when applicable.
Education/Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA certification or progress toward CPA preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Strong experience managing Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.
- Experience in the medical device, healthcare, or manufacturing industry preferred.
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, complex formulas, and financial analysis.
- Experience with ERP systems; familiarity with OneStream or similar financial reporting and consolidation systems preferred.
- Experience with inventory accounting and cost accounting is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze large datasets and translate financial information into actionable business insights.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with process improvement, system implementations, and accounting automation initiatives is highly desirable.
