Accounting Manager

About The Role

The role leads the monthly corporate close process, ensuring all financial reporting meets US GAAP standards and aligns with rigorous SOX controls. This position serves as a central point of coordination between general ledger accounting, FP&A, and external auditors to guarantee timely and accurate financial disclosures. The Accounting Manager will design and scale accounting workflows to support business growth, establishing robust internal controls and implementing modern financial software systems. This is a critical hybrid position based in New York, NY, designed for an audit-experienced professional looking to drive corporate accounting excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including review of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and flux analyses
• Prepare comprehensive financial statements and disclosure schedules in accordance with US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements
• Design, implement, and maintain internal control workflows to ensure compliance with SOX Section 404 requirements
• Liaise directly with external auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audits to ensure seamless delivery of requested materials
• Collaborate with internal engineering and systems teams to automate financial data pipelines, improving the accuracy and speed of the close cycle
• Monitor new accounting standards and document technical accounting positions via formal policy memos

What We Are Looking For

• 5-8 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally combining Big 4 public accounting audit and corporate GL experience
• Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is required
• Deep technical command of US GAAP, SEC reporting frameworks, and SOX internal control implementation
• Hands-on expertise with cloud-based ERP systems (such as NetSuite, Workday, or Oracle) and close management tools (like FloQast or BlackLine)
• Strong analytical skills, with advanced capability in Excel and SQL-based reporting tools
• Bonus: Prior experience in a high-growth technology or SaaS business, or experience managing a team of direct reports
