About The Role
The Accounting Manager oversees the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring absolute accuracy and compliance with US GAAP, SOX, and SEC reporting frameworks. This role serves as a key technical resource, translating complex financial transactions into clear, compliant financial statements that support strategic executive decisions. Operating in a remote capacity, this role partners closely with corporate finance, legal, and engineering teams to scale financial systems, implement robust internal controls, and streamline accounting operations as the business expands globally.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, including the preparation of consolidated financial statements and balance sheet reconciliations
- Ensure strict compliance with US GAAP and SEC reporting guidelines, managing the preparation of disclosures and supporting schedules
- Maintain, evaluate, and strengthen the internal control environment in accordance with SOX 404 requirements
- Collaborate with external auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audits, resolving complex accounting treatments and technical inquiries
- Optimize and automate accounting workflows using ERP systems like NetSuite, Workday, or SAP to reduce close cycle times
- Perform technical accounting research and draft policy memos on complex transactions, including revenue recognition (ASC 606) and leases (ASC 842)
What We Are Looking For
- 5-8 years of progressive accounting experience, with a mix of public accounting (Big 4 preferred) and corporate tech environments
- Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required
- In-depth, hands-on knowledge of US GAAP, SOX compliance, and SEC reporting standards
- Proven experience administering enterprise-grade ERP software (e.g., NetSuite, Workday, Oracle)
- Strong analytical skills, with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and SQL/BI reporting tools
- Bonus: Experience managing transition teams, system implementations, or international subsidiary accounting
