About The Role
The role oversees the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process, ensuring all corporate accounting activities align with US GAAP, SOX controls, and SEC reporting guidelines. Operating in a hybrid capacity from the New York office, the position acts as the central anchor for technical accounting policies, balance sheet reconciliations, and intercompany transactions. This position collaborates closely with FP&A and engineering teams to automate accounting workflows, implement robust internal controls, and streamline financial reporting. It offers a critical link between daily transactional accounting and high-level strategic finance operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analyses.
- Ensure strict compliance with US GAAP, SOX 404 internal controls, and SEC reporting requirements across all entities.
- Draft technical accounting memorandums detailing the treatment of complex transactions, such as revenue recognition (ASC 606) and leases (ASC 842).
- Collaborate with external auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audits, preparing PBC schedules and addressing audit inquiries.
- Partner with IT and business systems teams to optimize ERP workflows (NetSuite) and financial reporting automation tools.
- Review payroll processing, equity administration, and accounts payable operations to ensure accurate general ledger mapping.
What We Are Looking For
- 5-8 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally combining national public accounting (Big 4) and corporate accounting roles.
- Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is required.
- Deep expertise in US GAAP, SOX compliance, and SEC reporting frameworks.
- Hands-on experience operating within enterprise ERP systems, specifically NetSuite, alongside advanced Excel capabilities.
- Strong analytical skills with a proven ability to resolve complex technical accounting challenges independently.
- Bonus: Experience navigating digital asset accounting, multi-currency consolidations, or system migrations.
