Accounting Manager
About the role
E-Space is bridging Earth and space to enable hyper-scaled deployments of Internet of Things (IoT) solutions and services. We are building a highly-advanced low Earth orbit (LEO) space system that will fundamentally change the design, economics, manufacturing, and service delivery associated with traditional satellite and terrestrial IoT systems. The Accounting Manager will report directly to the CFO and advise executive leadership on critical financial decisions. Initially, this role will require a significant amount of hands-on work, but with ample prospects for progress and growth over time.
Responsibilities
- Assist with monthly close and financial reporting
- Manage federal, state, and international tax compliance processes
- Take full charge of the global annual budget, long-range planning, budget vs. actual variance analysis, and special modeling and analysis
- Serve as the primary contributor to auditing
- Assist with ERP system integration
- Hire, train, and retain skilled accounting staff
- Effectively manage key service providers, including external auditors, banks, tax firms, payroll providers, etc.
- Assist in developing and implementing goals, policies, and procedures for accounting and financial management
- Collaborate with cross-functional colleagues and executives to provide meaningful information for evaluating operations and plans
- Lead special projects as needed
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting
- 8+ years of relevant experience
- Solid knowledge of GAAP accounting
- Experience with FP&A
- Experience with auditing
- Experience with tax returns
- A strong work ethic, excellent execution capabilities, and a can-do attitude
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous major ERP system integration experience
- Experience in a manufacturing environment with an understanding of cost accounting
- Big 4 or other major CPA firm experience
- Work experience in space, aerospace, or telecommunications sectors and/or start-up environment(s)
- Proven ability to implement scalable processes and systems in a high-growth corporate environment
- Understanding of IFRS accounting principles, along with proper control structures for US/European entities
Location & Schedule
This is a full-time, exempt position based out of our Arlington, TX office. While we offer a dynamic work environment with opportunities for professional growth, there will be times when extra hours, including nights and weekends, may be needed to meet critical deadlines and mission goals.
