Accounting Manager

About the role

The Accounting Manager at Chestnut Carbon is responsible for overseeing financial operations, managing budgets, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. This position requires a deep understanding of financial principles and the ability to work effectively in a remote setting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the financial operations of the company, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Manage and maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with business objectives and provide financial insights to support decision-making.
• Lead the preparation and review of financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
• Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and other financial transactions.
• Support the implementation of new accounting systems and processes.
• Provide guidance and training to team members on financial matters and best practices.
• Perform variance analysis and identify areas for improvement in cost management and efficiency.

Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a managerial capacity.
• A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA certification preferred.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex financial data.
• Experience with financial software and accounting systems.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
