About the role
The Accounting Manager will play a critical role in the finance team, responsible for general accounting functions and supporting various financial processes.
Responsibilities
- Own the full cycle of general accounting — AR, AP, fixed assets, inventory, actuals, forecasting, and budget reporting
- Lead month-end close, including compilation and distribution of reports to corporate leadership
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley/COSO, lease reporting standards, and revenue recognition requirements
- Monitor and analyze inventory valuation, production costs, E&O, and recommend actions for disposition
- Support tax reporting, sustainability audit calculations, and serve as backup to the Controller
- Supervise and develop accounting staff, ensuring accurate workload allocation and timely completion
- Maintain ERP finance modules and contribute to special projects as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance, along with 5–10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience in a division or subsidiary of a publicly traded company, particularly with corporate reporting responsibilities preferred
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems in a manufacturing environment (e.g., cost accounting modules, inventory management)
- Strong Excel skills and comfort with data analysis; experience with BI or reporting tools is a plus
- Proven ability to lead and mentor a team while managing competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with cost accounting principles, standard costing, and variance analysis in a product-based business
