Accounting Manager

Location: Colorado Compensation: $85,000+ DOE Industry: Real Estate Development / Construction About The Opportunity A growing development company is seeking an experienced, hands-on Accounting Manager to take ownership of the company’s accounting function. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a smaller, entrepreneurial environment where they can make an impact, work closely with leadership, and have visibility across the business. The Accounting Manager will oversee the day-to-day accounting operations while remaining highly hands-on with the work. This person will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing the accounting cycle, supporting financial reporting, and helping ensure the accounting function operates efficiently as the company continues to grow. Key Responsibilities Own and oversee the day-to-day accounting functionManage the full accounting cycle, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and month-end closePrepare and review monthly financial statements and management reportsPerform account reconciliations and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial dataManage cash activity, banking, and account reconciliationsOversee invoicing, bill payments, collections, and other accounting transactionsAssist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysisMaintain accurate project-related accounting and financial recordsWork closely with company leadership to provide financial information and reportingEnsure appropriate accounting procedures, controls, and processes are in placeCoordinate with outside CPA firms, vendors, and other financial professionals as neededIdentify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting, and efficiencyProvide guidance and oversight to the accounting team while remaining willing to roll up your sleeves and handle the detailsSupport special projects and other financial initiatives as the business evolves Ideal Candidate 5+ years of progressive accounting experienceExperience working in a hands-on Accounting Manager, Controller, or similar roleStrong understanding of the full accounting cycleExperience in construction, real estate development, or a related industry preferredComfortable working in a smaller company where the Accounting Manager is deeply involved in the day-to-day accountingStrong Excel and accounting systems experienceHighly organized with strong attention to detailAble to prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet deadlinesStrong communication skills and the ability to work directly with ownership and leadershipSelf-directed, resourceful, and comfortable taking ownershipCollaborative leadership style with a willingness to jump in and do the work Why This Role?
