Accounting Manager

Responsibilities

• Reconciling accounts and preparing financial statements
• Ensuring accuracy in financial reporting to provide reliable information to stakeholders
• Overseeing month-end and year-end closing processes including preparation of financial statements, audit support and reconciling accounts
• Collaborating with third-party service providers to enhance existing financial systems and implement improvements
• Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations (IFRS)
• Leading and mentoring accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development
• Managing grants, subsidies and accounting related to government funding programs
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
• CPA designation preferred
• 5+ years of experience working in an accounting or finance role
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations, IFRS experience an asset
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
