Duties And Responsibilities
- Train, supervise and review the work of internal and outsourced Accounting close Functions
- Conduct performance evaluations, set goals, and provide coaching and mentoring to team members
- Continuously assess accounting processes and procedures, identifying areas for improvement and implementing streamlined workflows
- Participate in monthly draw process
- Participate in coordination and completion of annual audits
- Participate in preparation of property budgets and projections
- Interact with internal management, internal investment team, internal property managers, banking institutions, investors, lenders, JV partners, external tax and legal advisors, and auditors as necessary
- Participate in deal closings including acquisitions, dispositions, and financing transactions
- Ad hoc projects as requested
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, CPA designation preferred
- 3+ years of Real estate investment accounting/operations experience at an owner/operator/lender or third-party administrator
- Strong leadership abilities and a proven track record in team management
- Ability to foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment
- Motivated and dependable team player with impeccable ethics who maintains strict confidentiality
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Sound business acumen and decision-making skills with an aptitude for identifying when issues need escalation to senior management
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Proficiency with RealPage software is a big plus but not required
