Responsibilities
- Serve in an acting controller capacity: leading a team of accountants, owning client engagements end-to-end, and ensuring the delivery of accurate, high-quality financial reporting for our clients.
- Play a key role in mentoring staff, enhancing processes, and fostering strong client relationships.
- Maintain strong client relationships, providing guidance and proactive communication.
- Monitor workloads and deadlines, balancing quality and efficiency.
- Guide onboarding, training, and development of new team members.
- Contribute to internal initiatives, process improvements, and knowledge sharing.
- Participate in billing, scope adjustments, and client collections as needed.
- Maintain the highest standards of confidentiality and professionalism.
- Oversee grant tracking, multi-dimensional reporting, and single audit support for nonprofit clients.
- Support client budget development and assist with financial forecasting conversations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Stretch Responsibilities
- Lead budget development and strategic financial forecasting for assigned client portfolios.
- Assume full controllership-level responsibilities for designated engagements.
- Contribute to proposal development and support new client onboarding scoping.
- Build toward client portfolio growth and revenue-per-engagement accountability.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience; nonprofit, public accounting, or CAS firm experience strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting operations.
- Proficiency in Sage Intacct, experience with configuration, report editing, and multi-dimensional reporting preferred.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines independently.
- 2+ years of experience managing or mentoring a team of accounting professionals.
Qualifications
- Bonus: CPA license.

Compensation is commensurate with experience.
